About this Art Exhibition

IF.BE is a striking example of heritage adaptive reuse in Mumbai. The approximately 140-year-old Ambico Ice Factory in Ballard Estate was conserved and transformed into a contemporary cultural centre while retaining its industrial character, exposed materials and historic architecture. A large historic banyan tree forms the heart of the courtyard. Rather than functioning as a conventional museum or gallery, IF.BE is designed as a flexible platform for encounters between architecture, design, art and the wider community. Its spaces can be reconfigured for exhibitions, performances, talks, workshops, screenings, launches and private events. The venue also has Banyan Tree Café and Native Bombay Restaurant & Bar, allowing visitors to combine cultural programming with food and social experiences.
